The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: A lot has changed in my life since the late 1980s when I completed my MA in English at PSU. I returned to my home country, Greece, to work at Deree College, marry my boyfriend, and make a career out of my love for lit. After completing a PhD at the University of London, conferences, publications, and many years of teaching under my belt, I feel experienced but the everyday exchange in the classroom never fail to amaze me. I am an Associate professor of English and I coordinate the Writing Centers of the two campuses of the American College of Greece so my days are quite busy. I don't have the time to ponder on the past much but when I do nostalgia overwhelms me. I am lucky in that I have kept in touch with my best mates from my Penn State days: Nikos Kamvissis, Tim Cox, Karla Sanders, Inci Cilesiz. But there are so many more people who made those days special (even if I thought my head would explode as a result of all the work and study every day of the semester!) |
